Grow! with Compte Plus

is a project built from my day-to-day work with small business owners. I see the same questions, the same confusion, and often the same mistakes — not because people aren’t capable, but because the system is hard to navigate.

I genuinely enjoy sharing what I’ve learned over the years and making complex topics easier to understand. This platform is my way of doing that in a structured, practical way, to help entrepreneurs understand how things work in France and build their businesses with more confidence and less stress.

Leyla Zikmund

I didn’t start my career in accounting.
I began in the hospitality industry, after completing a Bachelor’s degree in International Hospitality and Tourism Management. I worked in hotels and event management in Prague, where I learned how to stay organised, work under pressure, and take care of clients.
During my maternity leave, I decided to change direction. I started learning accounting and, step by step, built a completely new career.
When I moved to the South of France in 2013, I began as an administrative assistant while studying to adapt my skills to the French system. In 2017, I obtained my first French accounting qualification and joined an accounting firm, continuing my studies towards the DCG diploma.
In 2019, I launched my own small business alongside my job. I started working with English-speaking entrepreneurs in France, helping them organise their paperwork, manage invoicing, follow up on payments, and prepare everything for their expert-comptable. What started as a side activity quickly became something much bigger.
In 2021, I obtained the DCG (a state diploma in accounting and management), and moved into an internal accounting role. Over the next few years, I managed day-to-day bookkeeping, VAT declarations, and all HR-related administration — from preparing contracts to handling employee arrivals and departures.
In 2023, I went back to school again and started the DSCG (Master’s level). At the same time, I made a conscious decision to focus more seriously on building my own business, while also returning to work in an accounting firm to deepen my expertise.
Today, I have over 15 years of experience in accounting, including more than 8 years in France, both in-house and in accounting firms. I also bring over 10 years of hands-on experience navigating French administration.
I work mainly with international entrepreneurs, because I understand how confusing the French system can feel at the beginning. My goal is to make things clear, structured, and manageable — and to help you feel in control of your business, not overwhelmed by it.
I speak English, French, Czech and Russian, and I’m used to working with clients from different backgrounds and cultures.
